One of the ways we connect to the Church throughout the nation and the world is by participating in four special offerings each year, which support local, regional, national and international programs for the good of the world.
One Great Hour of Sharing Offering – Gifts collected from this offering support Presbyterian Hunger Program, Presbyterian Disaster Assistance and Self-Development of People.
Pentecost Offering – 60% of the money collected goes to the Presbyterian Church (USA) to support ministries for programs for children at risk and ministries benefitting youth and young adults, and the remainder is used by Parkwood to support local ministries for at-risk children.
Peace & Global Witness Offering – 50% of the money collected supports Presbyterian peacemaking and advocacy programs around the world, 25% goes to the Presbytery of Lake Michigan to support peacemaking and education efforts in our region, and 25% remains here at Parkwood, designated to support local peacemaking ministries such as Humanity for Prisoners and domestic violence shelters.
Christmas Joy Offering – Half of the gifts from this offering go to the Board of Pensions Assistance Program, which provides financial assistance to current and former church workers, and half goes to scholarship programs and support for Presbyterian-related schools and colleges equipping students of color.
